Switching

What a switch really costs

The new monthly fee is the smallest item. A switch gets expensive in three places that appear in no offer — and a fourth decides when you can start at all: the notice period of the contract you are still in. That one is not a European rule, it is in your own agreement, so read it before you pick a date.

The data rarely come across on their own

Customers and vehicles out of the old system: some suppliers export for free, some charge per record, some not at all. Then somebody types.

It is your people who get trained

The bill is not the trainer's hour, it is five staff times half a day. Add two to four weeks in which everything runs a little slower.

The exit starts before the move does

Notice periods differ by country and by contract — a month, a quarter, sometimes only to the end of a term. Look yours up first: it fixes the date, not you.

Straight talk

Common questions

Does it manage tyres, parts and parking spaces as well?

Yes. Tyre sets with size, DOT and storage slot, parts stock with minimum levels right on the job, plus yard and depot spaces — so no vehicle is parked “somewhere”.
